This is a really fun activity to complete as part of a Christmas themed Night Zookeeper project. Children will be asked to create a magical animal and a present that they would like to recieve from Night Zookeeper for Christmas.

Write your own 12 Nights of Christmas song
Children can work together in teams to create a variation on the 12 days of Christmas song. They will be given a grid where they can draw their own magical animals to be inserted into the song. This resource also includes lyrics for children to follow and sing together.

Create your own Night Zoo Christmas card
This template has been created to help children create their own magical winter design. They may like to create a magical Christmas animal or draw a winter scene at the zoo. They can then photograph their creation and upload it to www.nightzookeeper.com should they wish to share their work with fellow young zookeepers.

I can give reasons for my choices
This resource gives the children a selection of magical animals and presents. Their job is to help the Night Zookeeper deliver the presents to the animals and write a paragraph explaining the reasons for their choices. This is a good activity to do ahead of creating your own Christmas animal.
