We invited Night Zookeeper because we wanted a new and fresh approach to our Book Week. So many children are engaged in the digital world that we wanted to blend the digital book, the game, the creativity and artwork to encourage children to look at all kinds of reading and writing as valuable. We were glad we did because it gave the whole school a buzz.
The Night Zookeepers very quickly built a great relationship with the children and encouraged their imaginations. All classes from reception to year 6 were involved in workshops, it especially engaged the boys (whilst appealing to all) and there were many opportunities to build upon the experiences once they had gone. The children were measuring each other’s necks, building their own digital books and painting mythical creatures.
The Night Zookeepers couldn’t have been easier to work with; from clear email exchange beforehand, a tailored programme to suit our school day, coming back in the evening to read at our ‘Bedtime Stories’ and meeting with parents to explain the at home link. Go on….take the plunge with Night Zookeeper; we are glad we did.
